| eCommerce: Can I change a ship to address for a Customer in eCommerce?

Updated on

This article is meant for Buyers that are Masquerading as a Customer and need to add a Ship to Address during checkout on eCommerce.

A ship to address can be added to a customers account during the checkout process.  Follow the instructions below:

1. During the checkout process, in the Shipping section, hit the "Enter a new Address" link

2. Enter the new Ship to Address.  We use "Receiving" for first name and "Department" for last name.  Fill in the new address, the Address Label and Phone N fields are not required.  Do not update the Company Name field.

3. The new address should appear in the Shipping Address field.  Hit the Continue to Payment button

The new shipping address will be integrated into Salesforce and should show up as an option during the next time that you checkout for this particular customer.

As a buyer, if you are switching sites it is VERY IMPORTANT that after switching sites that you make sure the cart is EMPTY. If it’s not empty please clear it or anything your new site will not need.
