| How do I check to see if a product can be repaired if it is not listed on the website?

Updated on

1. The quickest way to see if IPS can handle the part is to start by searching the ATS site.

2. Begin by entering criteria in the search field.  If possible, it is best to start with the manufacturer's part number, but if that is not available you can use part of the description, or OEM, etc.

The products that are closest to matching the search will populate the results.

3. To further narrow the selection, enter the product type you are interested in.  Your options are New, Refurbished, Surplus and Repair.  In our example, we are interested in Repair only, so under the Product Type, we will check the repair checkbox.

It may be a good idea to sort by OEM/Brand first, and then add the Product Type.

As a general rule, you could include Refurbished as an option in your searched, as if we have the refurb option available for this part, we often repair it as well.

4. In our example, we know that the OEM is Baldor (ABB), so we can narrow the search by entering that criteria under the OEM.  You can see our search results narrow to 14 total.

None of these are the part that we need to have repaired.

5. At this point, you would put in a Capability & Sourcing Request.

If IPS is able to repair the product, the Customer Service Team will reach out to you to have the item sent in to be evaluated.  An RMA will be issued for you to send the part in.
