2.8 | How do I add a Contact to eCommerce from an existing Salesforce Contact?

Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

In this article we will show you how create eCommerce login for a specific Contact in Salesforce.

In our example, we are going to add Victor Prouty from an existing contact in Salesforce.

2. Click “Victor Prouty Test” from the list of contacts.

3. Click the Details tab and scroll down to the eCommerce User ID field.

4. Enter an email addresses that will be used as the customer's eCommerce User ID for login to buy.advancedtech.com.

5. Check the eCommerce Access button! This is very important and will trigger the integration between Salesforce and Big Commerce which creates the customer account in eCommerce.

The 2 email addresses in Salesforce do not need to match.  The email address added under "eCommerce User ID" will be used as the customer's eCommerce login ID.  Sometimes the primary email is a group email such as [email protected], this allows a separate email for individual login to eCommerce.

Wait approximately 1-2 minutes and hit "refresh" on your Salesforce screen.

7. If you log into eCommerce as an administrator and navigate to the Customer section, you should see [email protected] as a newly created customer.
