5.1 | What happens in eCommerce when a Product Price is updated in Salesforce?

Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

The product record lives in Salesforce and is updated through an integration to eCommerce.  From here, discounts are applied based on the customer's account percentages, and this rolls through to a specific price point per product in the ATS Store.

1. Log into Salesforce.

2. Enter the product number in the search field.

3. Go to the Products tab.

4. Click on the Related tab.

5. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen.  This is where you will find the Price Books.

6. The Standard Price book entry is listed with the list price.

7. Click on the arrow at the far right of the line. Choose Edit from the drop- down.

8. The details for this price book entry loads.  Click Edit.

9. A pop-up window loads.  Change the price to the new price.

10. Click Save.

Please note:  if the eCommerce Ready flag is not checked, the integration will not run properly and the price will not update.

11. An integration will run to update the price in the ATS Store.  This will take a few minutes because it is updating all the price lists.  Once the integration has finished, the site will display the new price.

Any quotes or orders that are already in existence will not be updated to the new price.  This will only affect jobs going forward from this point.
