Most of the time, you will Navigate Salesforce using the Dashboard. However, there may be times when you find that you want to go directly to an Order or a Quote. This article will give you some tips on how to use the drop-down view.
Opportunities
As you know, everything starts out with an Opportunity. If you are not sure whether the Customer would have entered a quote or an order, you can always start with Opportunities.
The placement of your Main Menu Tabs might be slightly different than mine, but the steps to follow will be the same.
1. Go to Opportunities in the Main Menu.
2. This window defaults to Recently Viewed.
3. Click on the drop-down arrow to view other options.
One view that I find helpful is NEW THIS WEEK. You can choose whichever one makes the most sense to you.
4. If you wish to save this as your default view, you can click on the push pin next to the view you've selected.
5. A confirmation message appears.
6. You can use the search field to narrow the results.
7. You can also click on the header to sort by one of the columns. In this example you can see that data are sorted by close date in descending order.
Remember that anything in blue is a hyperlink. In the screenshot below, you have the option of going into the account or into the opportunity.
Quotes
8. Looking at Quotes, you can see there are many other options for display.
10. For Orders, there are fewer options to choose from: Activated, Draft, All and Recently viewed.
These options are available to ADMIN and those with higher level permissions.
