Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

This is an introductory walk through of ordering or requesting repair service for a product that is in need of repair on https://buy.advancedtech.com

1. Log in to your account at buy.advancedtech.com.  If you have not created an account, and need instruction, see the article below.

2. The quickest way to find a part is to type the product information into the search bar.  If you know the product ID or part number, type that into the search bar.

3. Alternatively, you can browse by category by placing the cursor on the CATEGORIES area of the header.  You will notice a drop down of categories and then when you mouse over a particular category (in this example, Electronics) the sub categories will fly out to the right.  See example below.

For this example, we are going to assume that you know the model number that you would like to repair: model number 6SN1118-0AA11-0AA0, which is a SIEMENS SIMODRIVE Board

4. Type "6SN1118-0AA11-0AA0" into the search bar and a quick view will popup with matching results (see below).

5. At this point, either mouse over to the product in the drop down or hit ENTER or the Red Magnifying glass at the end of the search bar to complete the search request.

6. The search results for "6SN1118-0AA11-0AA0" will pop up on the screen.  With any luck, the item you were searching for should be one of the first items displayed.  If not, the search results can be filtered down by selecting the appropriate CATEGORY or BRAND on the left hand side of the screen.

7. Move your mouse to the first item displayed, which matches the search by model number, in this case, "SIEMENS CORP 6SN1118-0AA11-0AA0 BOARD SIMODRIVE and select the link on the title.

8. This will bring you to the page specifically for Part ID # 6SN1118-0AA11-0AA0 (see below.)

Note:  The SKU for this particular product ends in "-REP" denoting that it is a REPAIR part.  The SKU number 6SN1118-0AA11-0AA0-REP will match the Salesforce Product ID.

9. Fill in the Problem Description text box with the issue that the product is having.

10. Select the quantity desired and "ADD TO CART."

11. A popup window will show up with the item and showing that it was added to the cart.  If finished shopping, hit "PROCEED TO CHECKOUT" to continue.

Tip:  Your default Shipping Address will populate the shipping to address fields on the Checkout screen.  Update if necessary.

12. Verify that the shipping information is correct and then choose the shipping method desired from the drop-down.  Enter Order Comments as necessary.

Alert:  If there is no weight currently established for the item, the default UPS ground fee of $26.95 will be displayed

13. Hit "Continue" and follow to the Billing section.  Verify that the billing address is correct if necessary.

14. Select Payment method.  If customer is a "Pay by PO" customer, the Pay by PO payment method will show up as a selection option.  All that is necessary is to enter a PO reference number to check out.

The Pay by PO is a selection option in the Admin Panel of Big Commerce.  It is integrated to Salesforce and will show up automatically if the customer has an active terms account with ATS.

15. If Credit Card is selected, a drop down will appear to enter the credit card information (see below).  If PayPal is selected, the "Place Order" button changes to "Check out with PayPal" and you will navigate to PayPal to finish your transaction.

Note that "Test Gateway" will not appear as a Payment Option once the store goes live.

16. Verify that the pricing is correct and then hit the "Accept Terms and Conditions" button.

17. Finally, hit the "Place Order" button.  If you have paid with a credit card, the payment will be authorized but not captured until the item has shipped.  The shipping charge is for return shipping, the item should be shipped in on the customer's account.

18. If all goes through correctly, you will receive an RMA email from the ATS Customer Service Team with a reference number for your repair service.  You should also advance to the order confirmation screen as shown below:

19. Press the ATS logo or "continue shopping" button to continue to the home screen after checkout.
