3.1 | How do I do a quick quote in Salesforce?

Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

1. From the main menu in Salesforce, click on Account.

2. In the Search bar, type in part of the Account Name and hit enter

3. Choose Quick Quote from the Sub Menu.

4. The product selection screen opens.

5. Type the SKU (or part of the SKU) in the search field and hit enter.

If you do not know the SKU, you can narrow your selection by OEM, Commodity Group, or any number of options.

6. Click on the box in front of the SKU to choose the product.

7. Click Select in the upper right corner.

The Product is added to the Quote.

The Quote Line screen opens.  You are in Edit mode.

8. If you have it, you can enter the shipping method here.

9. You can also enter the customer's payment method if you have it.

10. Click on the arrow at the end of the line to see the rest of the information.

11. Enter the ASTEA Job number in the Order Number field.

Copy this number.  You will paste it into the Order Name field on the quote header.

12. Click Save in the header.

13. This takes you back to the Quote screen.

14. Paste the ASTEA Job number in the Quote Name Field.

15. Click Save.

16. Generate the document and send it to the Customer to send in their item for repair.

17. Move to Presented and Mark as Current Status.

The remaining part of the work can all be done in ASTEA.  As this order did not start in eCommerce, there is no need to complete any of the work there.

While it is true that an Order is actually being created when you hit Activated on the quote, for Quick Quotes, the system will move the Order to Activated upon creation.  There is no need for CSR interaction past the point of Quote Creation.
